I got an amazing opportunity to work in the Maldives for the 3rd time! As the lock downs were starting at the end of 2020, Niyama contacted me about a 6 months contract to work in there stunning 5 star resort and I jumped at the opportunity. I had been to the Maldives twice before on short contacts over the busy festive seasons so didn’t have the time and chance to experience much of the fun things to do out there on the islands, and experience the unreal sea life as I was always too busy in the salon spa looking after the guests hair.

I had been playing around with doing YouTube vlogs and making content for my work life so I thought this would be a great time to document ‘me’ time and get used to being in front the camera. So the Maldives diary’s was born and I’m so glad I did document my journey as I now have the memories to look back on.

COVID did affect my work out there and what would normally be lots of blow drying and styling in the spa salon; was actually lots and lots of hair cuts as salons were closed all over the world!

This time because I was there on a long contact, I had lots of time to enjoy some of the perks of being on the island. I got to try surfing, I played tennis for the first time, I got to snorkel on the coral reef with the sea turtles, and I went on a beautiful boat trip to see the Dolphins.

I don’t want to give too much away, as you can watch any of my vlogs below and see the stunning beaches, sea, sun and all the friends and fun we had along the way.
